[Apple iPod] Volume Adjust

I've got 1st gen Nano, Mac 10.4.10.

I have the option to even the volume
on incoming music, but some of it
still blasts my eardrums.

I hate the thought of manually adjusting volume
of each mp3 which is too loud.
